Re-Igniting Promises

You are being invited to participate in the Re-Igniting Promises: Today ~Tomorrow ~ Together stewardship campaign. It is our hope that this campaign will enable us to be faithful to the journey that we began with our Beyond These Walls: Arise and Build campaign. Beyond These Walls resulted in the construction of the new worship center...but that was just a start. Our hope, our intent, was that a new worship center and hospitality area would help us invite people to be disciples of Jesus Christ.

Since Easter Sunday, we had 28 families visit Willow Hill; 15 of those families returned three or more times. We are reaching beyond our walls!

First, in re-igniting the promises for today we need to be responsible to our commitment to build the new worship center. When the center was complete we had received over $1,000,000 toward the cost of the construction. This was beyond all expectations! That means that our financial obligation to the mortgage on the worship center is $600,000. We need to meet this commitment. It is a promise that we made to each other when we broke ground for the new worship center.

But we have another responsibility to re-ignite the promises for tomorrow. We need to be responsible to the mission and ministry of our church and that means we need to help people grow into disciples once we connect them to Christ.

We are called to equip disciples to share God’s transforming love with our community and our world. The Building Team and the Directions Team for the Re-Igniting Promises Campaign believe a new 60x30 foot addition to our current building can provide space that can be used in a multitude of ways to help us in our ministry. This multipurpose space can help us be faithful to our promise to care for the people God will bring to Willow Hill in the future.

So in the coming weeks as the Re-Igniting Promises Campaign unfolds...pray that God will guide you through a process that will enable you to determine how He wants you to participate as we seek to be responsible to the promises we have made to each other. Promises we made when we constructed the new worship center and promises we make as we seek to be responsible to the mission and ministry of Willow Hill Church.

The vision is great! It is a vision that is too big for any of us to carry by ourselves...but if it wasn’t that big it wouldn’t be God’s vision.

At this point we ask only that you begin a journey with us...a journey of prayer and the discovery of God’s direction for each of our lives. Participate in the events of “Re-Igniting Promises” as they are announced. Pray for yourself and for your church friends that we would all be sensitive to God’s path. Do it TODAY, continue TOMORROW, and most importantly let’s all do it TOGETHER as we praise His blessing to us, and honor His love.
